Effects of HERBA METAPLEXITIS and PERICARPIUM METAPLEXITIS Extract on the Cellular and Humoral Immune Responses in the Mouse

Abstract
|
|
|
This study was done to know the effects of the HERBA METAPLEXITIS and PERICARPIUM METAPLEXITIS on the cellular and humoral immune responses in the mouse.
The author obtained the following results:
1. There were the greatest effects of the drugs on the murine contact hypersensitivity reactions against DNFB in the doses of 30㎕ and 150㎕ of extracts of HERBA METAPLEXITIS and PERICARPIUM METAPLEXITIS respectively.
2. Extracts of HERBA METAPLEXITIS increased the delayed type hypersensitivity reactions against sheep red blood cells, whereas extracts of PERICARPIUM METAPLEXITIS slightly decerased the reactions.
3. There was no effects of the extracts of HERBA METAPLEXITIS and PERICARPIUM METAPLEXITIS on the humoral immune responses against sheep red blood cells.
4. Extracts of HERBA METAPLEXITIS recovered markedly the ultraviolet light induced depression of contact hypersensitivity reactions against DNFB, whereas extracts of PERICARPIUM METAPLEXITIS did not recover the reactions.
5. There was no effects of the extracts of HERBA METAPLEXITIS and PERICARPIUM METAPLEXITIS on the ultraviolet light induced depression of humoral immune response against sheep red blood cells.
These results suggest that extracts of HERBA METAPLEXITIS can be effective for the enhancement of the immune response and extracts of PERICARPIUM METAPLEXITIS for the suppressions of the immune response.
